This house was perfect. I would stay here again.

Very nice, everyone enjoyed the house.

Overall our experience was very good with a couple of concerns: 1. The house can sleep 16 people but the kitchen didn't have sufficient cookware, glassware, utensils etc. We had 11 and I had to make spaghetti sauce in 2 pots! The 2nd concern was the dune walkover railing is weathered and splintering and my 4 year old grandson got over 50 in his hand.

We loved this house. Perfect access to the beach. Clean! Plenty of room! We will definitely be staying here again.

Having to put sheets on the beds and distributing towels was a surprise due to the amount of money we paid. More sitting on deck would have been nice.

It was ok, but no hand soap when we arrived, mosquito haven, went to plug in the lamp in master bedroom and got shocked as there was no cover plate on the outlet.

We had a great time, the house was perfect right next to the beach. Perfect for our multi family vacation, plenty of space.

I will start by saying that we had a great long beach weekend. The rental is in a perfect location. The large rental offered plenty of room for everyone. There was ample parking for my family. We love the private walk over to the beach. The days were hot but we had a really nice cool breeze on the upper deck. This property is older and it is showing it’s years. I suspect that it is not inspected by owner or management company as frequently as needed. The property had obvious wear and tear and noticeable areas that have not been touched by the cleaning crew. The ceiling fans and blinds have not been touched in a good long time. Every blind and ceiling fan had a build up of dirt. The carpet on the stairs was filty and worn. The rental offered Direct TV on some older Televisions. We could only connect to the guide to review or change channels on the TV in the main living area and master bedroom. The Vizio television in the main living area had no remote to adjust volume. One of the TV's in a primary bedroom only would only open and show Me TV channel. The most immediate issue that should be addressed by the owner is substantial damage to the roof eaves and overhangs. While sitting on the upper level deck we observed pigeons flying in and out of holes in the eves and overhangs. We woke each morning to pigeon jamboree (not nearly as soothing as ocean sounds). I can only imagine the damage these pigeons are doing in the attic. I would imagine that some years ago this property was a premier rental but it falls considerably short of that now. I would not recommend South Winds unless you can look past failures in basic maintenance and upkeep.

Hello, my family & I stayed here on a Mon-Fri. We’ve been to this beach & have stayed in the area before so knew we had to get a beach front home. The location for this house was perfect!! It was spacious and had enough beds for everyone. Really loved that the kitchen came fully stocked and we had one less thing to worry about. Appliances that we did use all worked and were very useful. House was clean. And we had plenty space for our clothes in closets or dressers. Now the only issues we did have with the house is that we did see a few roaches in the kitchen (about 2... it was nothing crazy) We also noticed that the walkway to the beach needed to be fixed on some wood panels as they shifted... needs to be hammered down. So I took off 2 stars from my review for those 2 reasons. OVERALL, We enjoyed the house and our stay here. We would recommend this house and we would stay here again. Also, might want to check batteries on the remotes as some remotes didn’t want to work. But that honestly wasn’t important as we didn’t watch much tv.

We live 20 min from here and it was perfect. Needs some maintenance but was great over all! We have rental cabins near the Rio Frio River, so we are a little more critical than most. Spend some money and repair what needs it.

My family had an amazing time because we enjoy each other and there was ample space. When we arrived there was a broom with trash left on the stairs as if someone left before they finished cleaning. Several A/C vents were black as well as the ceiling in a couple of the rooms.

Over all we had a great time. The house was nice. Most of the rooms were big but the bunk room had no room to turn around. Kitchen needs more supplies and the floor felt sandy no matter how many times you swept it. But nice porch and house and on the beach.

Location is great. House was perfect size but needed a good all over cleaning. Mildew and mold surrounded the vents and the house smelled awful but maintenance was sent out immediately after we called and Mike and his wife spent a couple of hours until midnight cleaning and spraying out every vent and gave us a air purifier. Great customer service and response time. Kitchen needs to be restocked with items that are clean and not broken. The boardwalk is in need of repair. There are loose, cracking boards and gaps so big you catch your toes/shoes. Sheets and towels were waiting in a large bag for us to distribute and put on, which was fine but our sheets had hairs all in them. Again, more attention to cleanliness could really improve the stay.

We were are little worried because of previous reviews but it was actually everything in perfect order and clean! Everything was working properly. The house is big and comfortable. It is an old house but it was very well kept. We definitely staying again!

I’d like to start by saying we’ve been to Surfside numerous times over the years and this is by far the worst rental we’ve ever stayed at.
Pros-Location

Cons- the house needs major repairs, front door is coming off the hinges, maintenance did come and try to fix it but didn’t stay fixed long.
Gate to the walkover is broken.
Door knobs missing throughout the house.
Air vents inside are rusty and very dirty.
Faucets are rusted and very dangerous, could get cut if you’re not careful.
The stairs to the second level haven’t been vacuumed in no telling how long, they were nasty.
The furniture needs a good cleaning or replaced.
When you remove the comforters on the beds there were piles of sand underneath.
Last but not least Roaches were everywhere inside, absolutely everywhere, in our bed, I had one crawling on me. Our dog came home infested with fleas!

Either the management company is not keeping up with the property or the owners aren’t. Regardless this property needs some major attention!

The house had dead bugs all over when we got to the property. The overall cleanliness of the place was fair, but I think that there are some repairs that need to be done to the property. I thought the property would be in better condition for the money.

I should have paid more attention to previous reviews. Good.... location, size of house. Bad ...house needs much attention.All kinds of issues - doors wont close, dirty, missing door handles,dangerous balcony, etc. Also I paid for cleaning but we were required to vacuum and sweep the house plus make the beds? Really??

Pros: Location, adequate space, great lower deck.
Cons: Make your own beds, put out your own towels, absolutely nothing (other than 4 1/2 rolls of TP and coffee filters) included, rust all over, disgusting windows (no way to clean), dangerous grill (they brought a new one), exposed nails galore, disgusting faucets, nasty toilet seats, horrible linens and bedding, inadequate outdoor seating, potentially dangerous balcony.

The house would be fine if didn't have horrible and basic deferred maintenance and a better set of included amenities.

Either the owners are incredibly cheap or the management company is failing.

We had a great time with our family and friends. This beach house was perfect for entertaining a large group. The location is perfect. Close enough to town if you forgot anything but far enough away to getaway.

This house was plenty big for our large family and was in a perfect location right on the beach which we enjoyed very much. However, there were several things that went wrong on the house which we just worked with as the weekend went on. Then we had to provide almost everything to stay there as far as paper products and cleaning products. We also had to make all the beds, strip them and clean the house before we left and were still charged large fees for staying here. Too much in fees added up to another night's stay. Did not like that at all.

The time we spent at South Winds was as always a time to be with family and just get away from every day routine,
it was all clean and well cared for we had every thing we needed in the kitchen, one of the better stocked houses I think no complaints with management, they have always been prompt to answer calls and its great to see the same people when we come back. we would definitely come back to South Winds

I would only stay here again if there aren’t any houses available on the beach near our other friends who are right down the beach. The house was not very clean in appearance and needs attention. We also paid $1,00 more for 3 days than our neighbors who had a brand new home that fit as many people and was also located on the beach. Coffee pot was unusable but they gave me a new coffee pot after I went up to the office and requested one due to the dirt and rust in this one. The shower and toilets need some attention. We only got 1 towel per person in our linen for a 3 night stay. Master bed was great and room was spacious. The downstairs room was ok but the bed was hard and uncomfortable. It fit our families okay but was as open as you would need for 2-3 families. The location was fantastic!

I would like to begin with the fact that we moved that Saturday and Sunday before this mini vacation. We were in a zombie state of mind. I couldn't wait to get our destination and collapse on the beach. Secondly, my oldest daughter flew in from Florida. It was the first time we were going to be together as a whole family in over a year. Next, I'm a teacher, so this break was anticipated for so many reasons. Lastly, my youngest daughter was proposed to on the beach. What a week! (She said "yes" by the way.) This beach house and the management were God-sent,(Surfside Angels). The house was gorgeous, spacious, equipped and immaculate. The view heavenly. Thankfully the weather was a bit on the chilly side, so we practically had the entire beach to ourselves. Low-tide brought many shells. The management served as a concierge of sorts, recommending restaurants, providing maps and absolutely any and all information we needed. We couldn't be happier with our stay.

We will be back! There were a few Hiccups (grill was nasty, they brought us a "NEW" one and shorted us towels, no biggie). But I must say that BRRI, was on top of it. They have been a pleasure to work with during our transaction. I talked with several other companies and I will never use any of the others.
This house is great very easy access to house and the house to beach. You can take your vehicle onto the beach(that is an extra charge $12yr). It has every thing you would need. I do recommend taking extra kitchen towels they only give you three towels and one kitchen was cloth(this might be enough for others). There are two crockpots. Which was awesome to put dinner in, and go to the beach and dinner be ready when you came in. I also suggest taking storage containers for left overs, we used zip lock bags.
My only real complaint is someone needs to work on their dusting skills. But I pretty sure after pointing this out it was taken care of.

We are ready to come again. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as we did.

Best beach week ever!

I have been renting from Bluewater Resort Rentals (BRRI) for years. Letha, has and is a great person to deal with in the office. They are always there and they are very helpful with any questions you may have.

The house was immaculate when we arrived. Just a short walk to the beach. Two major issues: 1. The water spout for the hose by the gate did not work. Think the actual faucet was broken. 2. The hammock was not hung, nor available. Even though it is shown in the pictures, and was hung when we viewed the property a few weeks prior to our stay. Very disappointing as this was a major selling point for renting this particular house. Only got lame excuses from person who answered the phone when we called about it. Everything else was wonderful. Wifi and TV reception great!

We enjoyed our stay at south winds, a very quiet neighborhood. the house was nicely furnished and clean.We have rented from Brannan for several years and always found the staff to be courteous, and helpful. Good place to take a family.

Perfect size home for large families. Furnishings up to date & in great condition. Beachfront location with excellent access to the beach.

This 5 bedroom home slept 3 families (6 adults, 7 children) and still had 2 unused pull-out couches. There were 2 living areas, several TVs, plenty of bathrooms, and a large kitchen and dining area for all your group meals. The home sits right on the water with your own private Boardwalk. We enjoyed everything about it except finding the floors sandy on arrival, having to make 11 beds to kick off a vacation, and having to end the vaca by sweeping/vacuuming/stripping 11 beds. For the amount of this rental and FEES, making beds and cleaning should not even be a consideration! I really liked this home, the location, the beds, and the kitchen. I think the experience could be made more vacation-like by having s cleaning company make the beds and clean the floors. And, I felt like we paid for that.

Was a great house for 2 families to share, everything was clean and organized. We loved being right on the beach, was a great time!
